AP Test Reading to generate more than $6.3 million for Cincinnati in June

Continuing its longstanding relationship with the Queen City, Educational Testing Service (ETS), a nonprofit educational assessment organization, will return to Cincinnati June 1-18 for its sixth consecutive AP Test Reading.

One of Cincinnati USA’s largest conventions, ETS will bring in more than 2,000 educators from across the United States to the Duke Energy Convention Center to score sections of the test taken by thousands of the country’s high school students.

This year’s Advanced Placement Reading in Cincinnati will generate more than $6.3 million in total economic impact for the region, with more than 21,000 hotel room nights contracted with the Millennium Hotel Cincinnati, Hyatt Regency Cincinnati, Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza and the Westin Hotel Cincinnati.

“We are honored to be in our sixth year of hosting the Educational Testing Service’s Annual Reading,” said Dan Lincoln, president and CEO of the Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau. “This conference not only reinforces the Cincinnati community’s dedication to education; it also makes up an important part of our convention year.”

The specific AP Exams being scored in during this year’s convention include Computer Science, Economics, Environmental Science, Human Geography, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Music Theory.
