If you are going to suffer a cardiac arrest, a convention attended by some 5,000 emergency room physicians probably is the best place to do it. That is exactly what happened during the annual American College of Emergency Physicians Scientific Assembly held Oct. 8-11 in Denver.
Three doctors took about five minutes resuscitating a male attendee after he suffered a heart attack and passed out in a leather chair during the first day of the scientific assembly held at the Colorado Convention Center, Fox 31 in Denver reported. One doctor used a CPR mask while another used a defibrillator to revive and stabilize the patient before emergency responders arrived. The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he reportedly is in good condition and is expected to recover.
The American College of Emergency Physicians Scientific Assembly is an annual event held in different cities across the U.S. The quick actions by the emergency physicians helped revive the man, quite possibly saving his life and helping him avoid even greater physical problems had he remained passed out and untreated for an indefinite period of time.
