Alliance Tech, an Austin, Texas-based business intelligence solutions provider, has been selected as a technology partner by the South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference & Festival, March 9-18, 2012, in Austin, Texas.
“SXSW was in need of securing a state-of-the-art solution for access control at venues and the Austin Convention Center so we turned to Alliance Tech who is the leading provider of RFID based solutions for trade shows, conferences and events,” said Scott Wilcox, director of technology at SXSW. “SXSW first began using RFID for authentication of SXSW credentials in 2005, and this new partnership provides an exciting upgrade. Working with Alliance Tech will enable us to run an even better festival and help to create a higher quality attendee experience.”
Alliance Tech’s Intelligent Attendance solution will be used for access control at all events during the 10-day festival via wristbands and badges issued to participants. The solution provides real-time connectivity and reporting so that as the show progresses, SXSW team members will be able to see more accurate and timely assessments of the over 100 venues involved in the SXSW Film, Music andInteractive festivals.
The company will also provide lead retrieval services to exhibitors at the SXSW tradeshow, using handheld barcode scanners to capture contact information from registrants who want to receive more information from exhibiting companies. Alliance Tech’s Intelligent Leads solution allows exhibitors to use one lead management solution to help stay in contact with attendees.
“We are excited to have been selected to showcase our award-winning technology solutions during one of the largest and most prestigious events in our city, and we look forward to a multi-year partnership with SXSW,” said Art Borrego, president and CEO at Alliance Tech.
Intelligent Attendance and Intelligent Leads are part of a suite of tools developed by Alliance Tech specifically for the event industry to focus on marketing metrics and business intelligence. Some of their other products include a mobile event guide, online social media portal and conference surveys.
SXSW is the largest event for music, film and technology in the country. In 2011, the conference and festival featured 2,098 musical acts on 92 stages, 935 interactive sessions and 65,200 tradeshow attendees.
