Management of the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center is claiming that nothing in its exhibit hall is salvageable after the facility was swamped by flood waters last week. About 350 exhibits were in the process of being erected for the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Associations (AFCEA) Show scheduled for May 3-7, meaning that not only were the booth properties lost, but so was any equipment or tools the general contractor or exhibit appointed contractors (EAC) left behind after evacuating the hall.

One of the show’s exhibitors provided Exhibit City News with the following statement they received from J. Spargo and Associates, which manages the annual conference and exposition for the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association:

“We have been informed by senior Gaylord staff that there will be no materials salvable from the exhibit hall. At this time we have not received official written correspondence from the Gaylord Opryland Hotel though expect to by early next week. When this official notice is received, we will forward it to you right away. We believe it is the intention of the Gaylord to bring in a qualified Remediation Team to clean out and dispose of the remains of the exhibit hall contents… We will be sending out updates as they become available and are monitoring the situation. Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated.”

Those who have any immediate questions or concerns can contact Judy Spargo at (703) 679-3923 or send email to judy.spargo@jspargo.com.
