Abstract Displays receives success award, nominated for another

Abstract Displays, a Cincinnati-based (Blue Ash) tradeshow exhibit company, announced that it has been named a winner of the First Annual Tristate Success Awards by Cincy Magazine. The company was featured in the April 2011 issue of Cincy and will be honored at an awards dinner on April 26, 2011 at Xavier University’s Cintas Center.

The Tristate Success Awards were founded on the premise that the Tristate’s strength as a thriving business center is built on the growth and success of its businesses. The award honors the most successful and consistent public, private and emerging companies in the Tristate.

This year’s Tristate Success Awards celebrate companies that have increased revenue and employees over the past year, an exceptional achievement given the economic condition. Abstract Displays in particular is recognized for increasing its staff by 6 and its revenue by 15 percent since last year.

“When the first mentions of recession were being announced in the media, we made a commitment that our company would not participate,” said Carla Eng, CEO of Abstract Displays. “Being a small business, and therefore able to make immediate changes to our strategic plan, we reinvested in growth by adding key staff positions to offer additional services and improve customer service and internal processes. We will continue to look for ways to innovate and improve to exceed our clients’ expectations.”

Abstract displays also nominated for Small Business of the Year by Cincinnati Chamber

Abstract Displays has announced that it has been nominated for the 2011 Small Business of the Year Award (1 to 50 employees) by the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. The company has also been nominated for the Chamber’s Community Involvement Award. This is the second year in a row the company has been nominated for the Small Business Excellence Award, and the first year it has been nominated for the Community Involvement Award.

“Since our company began in 2000, our focus has been on basically two things: excellence in customer service and giving back to the community,” said Carla Eng, president of Abstract Displays. “We never waver in our commitment to either of these two things.”

The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber Small Business Excellence Awards celebrate the successes of Cincinnati USA’s top small businesses. Winners and runner-ups have been chosen by a panel of 15-20 business owners and advisors. Judges base their choices upon a close examination of critical business factors including customer focus, leadership style and company culture, strategic planning and sustainability of business, community involvement and, financial performance and sustainability.

“We set our goals higher every year when it comes to business success and in turn, plan how we share our successes with the greater community,” said Eng. “Each of our employees is encouraged and given time to participate in volunteer and community activities, which has intrinsic value on our successes.”

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony and celebration of small businesses at the Millennium Hotel in downtown Cincinnati.
