The Experiential Designers & Producers Association Southeast Chapter was awarded Chapter of the Year during the ACCESS Conference last December. This is the second time the chapter has been recognized for this award category that “acknowledges a chapter for their diligence and hard work in promoting EDPA, and its innovative ways in forging ahead as a chapter.”

The award is given to the top scoring chapter in eight different categories including membership, fundraisers, programs/events/meetings, student assistance, national programs, public relations, EDPA website, enthusiasm and creativity. The southeast chapter competed against six other national EDPA chapters.

The Atlanta-based chapter is served by current President Sandra Braun and seven additional board members from several areas of the industry including Treasurer David Sterne of The Inside Track, Inc.; Secretary Emma Christen of BeMatrix and directors John Lamb of Champion Logistics; Lynn Reves of Exhibitus; Hayda Toro of Tectonics; Chris Brooks of MC2 and Brian Baker of Highmark TechSystems.

Braun says, “2017 was an extremely successful and inspiring year for our chapter. We experienced membership growth, exceeded fundraising goals and launched a new website. I am most proud of the positive impact our chapter had on the people of this industry–these individuals are the reason we work so hard.”

The chapter’s first meeting of 2018 will be a luncheon on Feb. 21 at 103 West (located at 103 W. Paces Ferry Rd Nw in Atlanta) and will feature William Pate (pictured left), president and CEO of the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau, speaking on “Travel, Trade Shows & Tourism: What the future holds in the Atlanta area.”

EDPA’s mission is to advance the interests of members engaged in the design, production and service of exhibits, events and experiential environments. The EDPA Southeast Chapter states “it is our responsibility to continue to enthusiastically facilitate educational, charity and social experiences for those involved in the exhibits and events industries.” For more info, visit www.southeastedpa.org.
