2014 Sports Licensing and Tailgate Show adds new seminars

Two new seminars were added to the 2014 Sports Licensing and Tailgate Show, an event for brand owners, licensors, licensees and retailers in the world of sports licensed products.

Taking place Jan. 16-18 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, the show’s newest seminars will be held on Jan. 17.

“We are excited to be adding both of these seminars to the show,” said Liz Crawford, show director, Sports Licensing and Tailgate Show. “Access to the insights of these professionals will help retailers refine their business goals and inspire them as they return to their stores. This type of content is invaluable to the Sports Licensing retail audience, and we are happy to be able to provide more value to our attendees.”

From 8-8:45 a.m., the first session will feature John Sabo, GMM of Fanatics, one of the leading retailers of sports licensed products in the U.S. Fanatics provides online products with hundreds of thousands of officially licensed items via its Fanatics and Fans Edge brands. Host Brian Hakan, a sports marketing and licensing veteran, will conduct an in-depth Q&A session to highlight tips of success in the growing sports licensing segment.

Later, from 10:30-11:00 a.m., the NFL Players: Business Solutions session will provide information and insights to retailers on how to engage with NFLPI, the “one-stop” shop for player marketing strategies and licensing solutions. NFLPI VP of Licensing and Business Development Steve Scebelo will present the organization’s suite of services and introduce former NFL player and current NFLPI Brand Ambassador Kevin Bentley as well as NFLPI’s new licensed service provider, Opendorse.

  • Former 10-year NFL linebacker Kevin Bentley will discuss his role in the newly launched NFLPI Brand Ambassador program and how he is poised to help NFLPI licensees and retailers find creative solutions to their business problems.
  • Blake Lawrence, founder and CEO of Opendorse, will introduce its new partnership with NFLPI as a new social media tool that will allow licensees, retailers and small business owners the opportunity to engage NFL players to send out monetized tweets on their behalf.

The first 100 attendees to the session will be given a framed memorabilia item courtesy of Photo File.
