Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), which has promoted tourism in the Wisconsin city since 1972, would like to congratulate Senior Convention Sales Manager Jeff Holcomb on his 20th anniversary with the organization.
Holcomb joined the Bureau in 1995 as sales manager just as Madison was adding and augmenting its existing convention facilities. The Alliant Energy Center was beginning the construction of its new Exhibition Hall. The Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, Madison’s downtown convention space still had not yet been approved by city leaders.
While the landscape in Madison may have looked very different 20 years ago, Holcomb’s dedication to serving the diverse needs of his clients is a constant.
Holcomb is a Certified Meeting Planner and well-known amongst his peers for embodying the GMCVB’s brand promise of “Going >Beyond>Visit” for each and every one of his clients. He has been known to go the extra mile for groups, even going so far as to write and perform an original song for a visiting group during their opening remarks.
Never one to steer away from a challenge or get thwarted by hiccups in the planning process; Jeff is a consummate professional said GMCVB President and CEO Deb Archer.
“I’ve worked closely with Jeff over the past 20 years, and the experience, knowledge and passion that he brings to the table for each and every client is truly a wonderful asset,” she added.
Director of Sales Rebecca Ramsey agreed. She said, “Jeff’s knowledge, skill and passion for selling Madison are a critical element to his success. But more importantly, Jeff’s day-to-day enthusiasm for the work he does benefits all of our sales team.
